VIDA MOVAHEDI (Born 1985) ON “REVOLUTION STREET”:

She was the very first brave woman who, on December 27, 2017, in protest against the enforced Hijab, hung her white headscarf on a stick and in a direct action stood on an electrical box in one of Tehran’s busiest streets. She was immediately arrested by the security police and released after a month.

On October 29, 2018, Vida Movahedi stood again near the same place in the middle of “Revolution Square” and held in her hand several colored balloons. She was arrested by the police and this time she was sentenced to a year in prison – despite having an infant – accused of “encouraging people to commit corruption and prostitution”!!! After serving her sentence, she was released from the women’s prison on May 28, 2019.
