Statement in Support of the People’s Protests in Chah Ab, Takhar

In these days, as the voices of protest rise from Chah Ab, Takhar, we must firmly condemn the oppression and injustice inflicted upon its people. The Taliban’s actions, in collaboration with contracting companies extracting gold mines, not only disregard the fundamental rights of the local people but also serve to plunder their wealth and further subjugate them under fascist policies.

The extraction of natural resources should be a mean of improving lives and fostering sustainable development, first and foremost bringing positive change to the communities that inhabit these lands. The local people have the undeniable right to participate in decision-making processes regarding their natural wealth and to benefit from the resources of their homeland. Furthermore, it is crucial to recognize that the protests in Chah Ab symbolize resistance against the systemic inequalities imposed through fascist governance.

This struggle is not only for the rights of the people of Chah Ab but also for all those who stand against oppression, forging new possibilities in defiance of the Taliban’s tyranny. Freedom finds meaning only when individuals have the right to participate in decision-making processes, without being subjected to repression under various pretexts. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Chah Ab, Takhar, against this brutal suppression. We shall remain united in this fight for freedom, refusing to surrender in mere hope, but instead striving relentlessly to reclaim our rights.
